1987

The 1987 Topps Nolan Ryan baseball cards documents the history of a record breaking player showing no signs of slowing down.

While Nolan Ryan was known for his strike outs he was also known for his wild pitches.  His pitches may have been wild but his cards are considered quite a stable investment by collectors.

At an age (40 years old) when many baseball careers end, Nolan Ryan was showing only small signs of wear in 1987. The wild pitches and disappointing record for the season were enough to make many fans wonder though.

Still he did manage to pull off a 5th place showing in the Cy Young voting that year. Rock bottom prices for these cards make them a no-brainer for the completist or even casual Ryan fan.

Look for the ’87 Donruss card, it’s managed to hold steady in the respectable $10-$13 range, and I think it’s value may still have some room to grow. Finding one in near-mint condition should still be a cinch.
